The price of the 3DS is putting off Japanese gamers, according to a new survey conducted by poll site Goo Ranking.
As reported by andriasang, Goo asked 1,110 gamers why they had not yet bought Nintendo’s new handheld. The most popular answer was “Price is high/waiting for a price drop”, while the second most-given response was that they were satisfied with their DS or DSi.
Concerns over nausea and eye-strain took third and fourth place. A lack of launch titles, short battery life, and satisfaction with the PSP were all listed in the top 10 issues.
Some familiar gripes here, although the 10th most popular complaint was “It’s heavy and I don’t feel like carrying it with me”. That initially sounded pretty silly to me, until Martin suggested that they might just want a phone instead.
I prefer the idea that Japanese gamers have weak wrists. Maybe that’s why Kojima put that button-mashing test in the original Metal Gear Solid – to build up the wrists of Japanese youths. He saw this coming, damn it!
