Fortnite has already revealed the Chapter 8 release date

While players are still busy exploring the new landscapes of Fortnite Chapter 7, which was released just a little over a month ago, Epic Games has already revealed the release date of Chapter 8. Once again, a chapter will last for an entire year. However, late 2026 might be different, as a new mini-season hasn’t been leaked yet.

It’s safe to say that Epic has prepared lots of new content, as many collaborations are set to arrive in early 2026. Later in the year, the game developer may bring older Battle Pass skins back in Fortnite, which will be a treat for everyone who has missed them.

Fortnite Chapter 8 will be released in late November 2026

Epic recently got back from a winter break and posted a full update schedule on the Trello board. The board shows November 28, 2026, as the Fortnite Chapter 8 release date. Furthermore, the new chapter will have a big update before the company goes on another winter break.

For now, we know that Season 2 of Chapter 7 will begin on March 5, while the third one will start in late April. Season 4 should begin in July, which leaves just enough time for either two mini-seasons or a fifth season in the current Fortnite chapter.

Interestingly, the November 28 date puts Fortnite in direct competition with the most anticipated game of the decade: GTA VI. Rockstar’s upcoming title is scheduled to come out on November 19.

The reveal of the Chapter 8 release date is a bold move by Epic Games, and it will be interesting to see how GTA VI will affect the battle royale game. It’s no secret that millions of gamers are excited for the new GTA game, which is something that could negatively impact Fortnite’s player count.
