According to Google’s official Year in Search, Arc Raiders is 2025’s top trending game worldwide, beating juggernauts such as GTA 6 and Battlefield 6. It’s important to clarify that the results aren’t showing the most-searched games, rather, they are listing the games with the “highest increase in traffic between January 1, 2025, and November 25, 2025, compared to the same period” in 2024.
Google says they don’t base the lists on “most searched” terms because “generic words like ‘weather’ or ‘news’ are popular every year”. This is probably why Fortnite isn’t listed in the top 10, despite remaining the most popular game today. Google also asks publications not to use “phrases like ‘top searched’ or ‘most searched’ as that would be inaccurate”.
Below are Google’s top 10 trending games worldwide for 2025:
- Arc Raiders
- Battlefield 6
- Strands
- Split Fiction
- Clair Obscur Expedition 33
- Path of Exile 2
- GTA 6
- Pokemon Legends Z-A
- Minecraft
- Robolox
Being crowned 2025’s top trending game worldwide is a strong achievement that emphasizes Arc Raiders’ massive popularity. It was only released on October 30, and in less than a month, it reportedly reached 7 million sales across Steam, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
South Korean publisher Nexon owns Arc Raiders developer Embark after acquiring the studio in 2021. Nexon CEO, Lee Jeong-hun, says Arc Raiders is also the “most successful global launch in Nexon’s history” since its foundation in 1994, beating games such as The First Descendant, The First Berseker Khazan, and Embark’s only other game, The Finals, released in 2023.
Arc Raiders has had an incredible year and is nominated for Best Multiplayer at The Game Awards on December 11. Hopefully, its momentum continues as Embark has “ambitious” plans for 2026 and the studio considers the game a “10-year project”.
