Marvel Rivals will soon release a gacha-style event

If you’re a fan of gacha games, then you will surely love the upcoming event in Marvel Rivals. Right at the conclusion of the Anniversary event, NetEase will release another one, allowing you to unlock even more cosmetics. However, the upcoming event will have a different style, and it’s definitely not going to be everyone’s cup of tea.

The Marvel Rivals developer is launching Van Dyne’s Grand Opening, a limited-time event that offers you a chance to win exclusive cosmetics. It works a bit differently than standard shop purchases, using a gacha-style system that relies on your luck to get the best items.

New Marvel Rivals event will reward lucky players

The upcoming event features a unique mechanic where you use Units to roll for rewards. While there are six items in total, a special jackpot feature could let you unlock everything very quickly. The event is a gacha-style mini-game, meaning you will have to roll for your rewards using Units. Unfortunately, your limited-time Units from the Anniversary event will expire by then, so you won’t be able to use them.

There are six total items you can pull, but the price isn’t fixed. Each roll increases in price, following a specific progression: 100 – 200 – 300 – 400 – 500 – 600 – 800 Units.

The unique twist here is the jackpot mechanic. The grand prize of the event is the Pastry skin for Psylocke. If you are lucky enough to pull the jackpot early, you will instantly get all other items in the pool. This means you stop paying immediately and walk away with everything. In other words, if you are lucky enough, you can win all the items while spending only a few hundred Units.

The release date of this Marvel Rivals event hasn’t been revealed yet. However, we expect it to come out shortly after the launch of Season 5.5 on December 12.
