We’re off to Cologne, Germany, for gamescom 2009, but you can experience all of the fun (or at least some of it) with us via our amazing photo diary! Here we are outside of the South Entrance at the convention centre.

Activision woke us all up with this stunt. It was very loud – I’d be deaf now if I hadn’t found the woman giving out earplugs a few seconds earlier.

Ignore the secret agent on the left. Look at the awesome people dressed up in Star Wars gear.

This is what greeted me when I turned up to the Konami press conference.

Just look into the distance. The place was busier than a free cake stand at a fat kid convention.

Spying through the bushes to see what the other sites/magazines were writing. Something about some game… can’t really make it out.

The line to play Modern Warfare 2 was obscene, anyone would think Paul Daniels was in there doing tricks. Sadly he wasn’t.

The booth for Blur was ace and featured a banged up car suspended from the ceiling spewing smoke from the exhaust.

The NERF climbing wall and dart gun area looked fun. We were all too old to play on it. Seb had a blast.

This woman was trapped in a bubble and forced to play the new Mario And Sonic game.

A beautiful and well deserved steak to finish the day.

Oh, and we walk past this rather impressive cathedral every day – one of the world’s largest that took 600 years to build. The architect must have eaten all his greens I guess.
