Members of the month – August 2011

Woah, it’s that time again already!? Hasn’t this month just flown past? And so with the end of August, we move on to pick three of our users who have done an absolutely sterling job of contributing to VideoGamer.com’s website and forums. These Members of the Month, will each win a game of their choice (up to the value of £50) from GAME.

We’ve been running this promotion for years, with the results announced on the forums and our podcasts. Now we’ve decided to go into a little more detail, with a brief explanation of why we’ve picked the specific winners each month.

August really peaked in the latter half of the month, and was made extra special by three particular members. It’s a tough job to choose a golden trio each month as all the contributions made to the site are highly appreciated by the staff here at VideoGamer HQ. We would give all members a lifetime supply of H.A.W.X. 2 if given the chance, but alas, we have to glorify just three. So we’ve scoured the forums, made a note of your comments and have decided who should win this round of Member of the Month.

It’s important to mention that if you did not win this time around, please do not feel unappreciated; we genuinely love all your contributions to VideoGamer.com, and as fortune has it, we’ll be picking another set of winners in precisely one month’s time.

Congratulations p0rtalthinker, you made the cut. We’d like to give p0rtalthinker a Member of the Month acknowledgement for being simply outstanding. He’s a regular around these parts, and although a yank, we rather like his company over here in England. Of all his posts we particularly enjoyed his forum game What IS That!?!, even if picture 1 of game 1 was impossible to guess, we still had fun thinking about it. We also found TITLE FIGHT! a fun one. Keep up the good work.

Neon-Soldier32

Neon is an all-star wonder. Always having something interesting to say and always wanting more from his fellow members. He’s a passionate gamer at heart, starting multiple threads on games such asDeus Ex or the new handhelds. He’s often seen looking for some in-depth discussion, always keen to get the lowdown on what other people have to say. Listening skills are his forte. We find his passion for video games enlightening, top stuff.

Wido

Wido is always up for a game or two, whether it be Gears of War or even Barbie Horse Adventures, it’s on. He has done a tip top job of making himself heard on the forums, contributing consistently and always furthering topic discussions. Not only this but it’s nice to see him checking in daily… We always worry when he doesn’t call. We felt Wido should take the last podium spot for being such an awesome member, good job!
