It all started a little after 2am UK time. As a reward to players of the ourcolony.net viral marketing game, Microsoft have released a video that shows the Xbox 360 for the first time. It highlights the console with J Allard being the most prominent figure. The specs that were leaked earlier this week are confirmed and the console’s changeable face plates are shown. The central round button is also conformed to take you to the new user interface with was referred to as the 360 guide, the place to view trailers and access video messaging etc. The video reveals the console will be water cooled and that the Xbox Live notification features will no stretch even further, going as far as notifying you about game invites while you are watching a movie.
Information then flooded out of a number of websites. One of the biggest revelations was that the console will come with a 20 GB hard disk as standard. This is removable and looks to be upgradeable at a later time.
