Play.com has listed the Xbox 360 to pre-order for £399, with a release date of November 29th 2005. Now, while we expect both the price and the release date to be an educated guess on the part of the site’s administrators, if we assume for a moment that the console will launch at that price, it would be one of the most expensive consoles ever to launch in the UK.
With the Sony PSP on sale for £179 this Christmas and the PlayStation 2 probably at £100 or lower, such a high price tag might cause some problems for Microsoft. Hopefully the £399 price is a rather inflated guess. If we hear any concrete information we’ll let you know.
