The report revealed that a number of key releases have been delayed, but the line referring to the delays is what should have gained a lot of press attention. It read, “This will enable further development work to be undertaken on these titles (including additional versions of Lara Croft Tomb Raider for the next generation PSP and Xbox 2 platforms) and allow the Company to take advantage of more favourable release windows.”
No further details on either version of the next Tomb Raider game have been revealed. All that is known is that the game is scheduled for a release in Edios’ next financial year, which starts on July 1st 2005. With the Xbox 2 expected to launch this winter, a late 2005 release seems likely.
