EA has dismissed rumours that CEO John Riccitiello’s job may be on the line.

As reported via MCV, Chairman Larry Probst announced at the annual shareholder’s meeting that there was “absolutely no plan to replace John Riccitiello as CEO”.

“The board has a high level of confidence in John and the management team,” he said. “They have done a good job of exceeding the operating plan in the last few years.”

Probst stated that while the company does discusses its succession plans on a regular basis, there are no plans to get rid of Riccitiello just yet.

Rumours about the CEO’s future have followed a drop in EA’s stock value. Analyst Michael Pachter also gave a speech at Develop which led people to speculate that Riccitiello might be fearing for his job.
