The Settlers Online, the browser-based free-to-play strategy title set in the Settlers universe, has reached 1.5 million users since being launched in Germany, US, France, and Russia.
In The Settlers Online players can settle a new city along with other players, create guilds, and trade resources while acquiring bonuses from other users.
Developed by Ubisoft Blue Byte, the English language European open beta of the game begins today.
This follows in line with Ubisofts plan last year to expand its free-to-play segment after acquiring the very popular browser-based horse game Howrse in 2011.
