The $399 Kinect-less Xbox One went on sale yesterday, and GameStop’s senior vice president of merchandising Bob Puzon has said it’s already “flying off the shelves.
“They went on sale in GameStop yesterday; these things started to fly off the shelves,” Puzon told GameSpot, “It’s a huge win and a huge opportunity for us.”
Microsoft will begin selling standalone Kinect sensors later in the year, and Puzon adds “that’ll be interesting to see how many of those folks come back and buy the Kinect.”
The Kinect-less Xbox One was not met with unanimous support from developers, with Zumba Fitness developer Zoë Mode claiming developers making Kinect games have “had the rug pulled from beneath them.“
The Xbox One without Kinect is also available in the UK, retailing at around £349.
