Microsoft has “no plans” to relist two downloadable content packs for Project Gotham Racing 4 which were removed from Xbox LIVE Marketplace late last year.

In a statement provided to VideoGamer.com this morning, Microsoft said that it was “always continuing to evolve Xbox LIVE with features and experiences that harness the full power of Xbox 360,” and “to reach our aspiration, we sometimes need to make changes or remove content when offerings are incompatible with our current platform.

“At this time we have no plans to relist this content on Xbox LIVE Marketplace but our goal remains to give our community new games, new entertainment, new experiences and new ways to connect with friends on Xbox LIVE.”

It was first noticed that the two DLCs, which include the Free and Premium Challenge Packs, had been pulled around September last year, but an explanation for their removal had not been provided by the platform holder until today.

Players will still be able to access the content if they have previously downloaded and installed the content to their Xbox 360 HDD.

However, things appear slightly more worrisome for those who have since deleted the content.

Microsoft did not provide VideoGamer.com with any information about whether those who had previously purchased the Premium Challenge Pack would be able to re-download the content and, if not, whether they would be eligible for a refund.

Between them, the two packs introduced a variety of new cars and bikes, two new game modes, 20 arcade events and 10 new achievements.
