Konami and PES Productions are opening a new “football game productions” studio in London, VideoGamer.com can reveal.
The new studio “will create PES projects targeting high-end game consoles and PCs”, in an investment that will allow PES Productions “to continue striving to reproduce European football culture at its best in their games.”
The studio is currently staffing up for multiple positions, including designers, artists and programmers.
Konami will be looking for ‘skilful’ new staff at its booth at next month’s GDC Europe event.
“If you are interested in becoming a part of this amazing team, we are accepting entries in our Konami Group booth,” said the publisher in a job ad for the studio.
“We look forward to meeting lots of passionate candidates who want to deliver the best football game for our customers.”
Previous PES games, including this year’s PES 2013, have been developed solely by PES Productions’ Japanese studio, but the new London studio will operate as a dedicated European wing of the Tokyo-based PES Productions team.
“These are hugely exciting times for the PES series,” commented Shinji Hirano, president of Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH.
“We are looking for a number of creative people who can help us elevate PES to whole new levels. As part of Konami’s commitment to ensuring PES captures the majesty of European football, we are looking for people to help capture the very essence of the beautiful game and bring it to life. We look forward to meeting interested parties at GDC Europe.”
It was revealed back in May that PES producer Shingo ‘Seabass’ Takatsuka was not working on PES 2013, but “another game related to the PES franchise”.
PES Productions London will be the second major UK development studio to open in recent months.
Earlier this month, VideoGamer.com revealed that Activision had opened a new studio in Leeds to head up development on Call of Duty games targeted at mobile platforms.
