Nordic Games has acquired the de Blob IP from THQ, the publisher has announced.

It has yet to reveal what it plans to do with the platforming IP, which spawned two games following its initial PC release in 2006.

“de Blob is just a great and truly unique franchise”, said Nordic’s business & product development director Reinhard Pollice. “We are excited about what the future holds for this polychromatic extravaganza as the newest addition to our portfolio. We will evaluate opportunities with the existing games, as well as potential sequels.”

Nordic purchased multiple IPs from THQ following the company’s closure last year, including Darksiders, Red Faction and the THQ trademark.

Further details on the deal, including how much Nordic paid to acquire the IP, have not been disclosed.
