The BioShock movie project is by no means dead and buried, Irrational creative director Ken Levine has told EDGE magazine.

Asked flat out if the project was dead, Levine said: “The thing with Gore [Verbinski] didn’t work out, but there’s no such thing as ‘it’s finished’ when it comes to making a movie out of something.

“It’s always about the stars aligning. We’re still focussing on it, but it hasn’t consumed us so much.”

However, Levine added that “right now, we’re choosing our battles and focussing on making BioShock: Infinite.”

BioShock Infinite is scheduled for release October 16 on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.

Now that Gore Verbinski won’t be making the BioShock movie, who would you like to see helm the project?
