Ubisoft has no plans to release another Assassin’s Creed game on PlayStation Vita, according to comments made by the publisher on Twitter.

Responding to a fan asking if players will ever see another Assassin’s Creed game on the handheld earlier this week, Ubisoft said that “nothing’s planned at the moment for such a game but we’ll keep you posted!”

Ubisoft’s comments follow those made by Sony earlier this year that brought into question future AAA releases on the console.

Last week, Sony UK boss Fergal Gara suggested that first-party titles like Uncharted and Killzone wouldn’t appear on the console, either, instead saying that he was “excited by… the number of games we can take to the platform that have been created for other platforms.”

Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation launched on PS Vita in October 2012, introducing the series first female protagonist Aveline de Grandpre. An HD version later arrived on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.

Two new Assassins Creed titles are planned for release in eight weeks’ time, including Assassin’s Creed: Unity on PS4, Xbox One and PC, and Assassin’s Creed: Rogue on Xbox 360 and PS3.
