The competitions page on the official UK PlayStation website has suggested that the release date for Ubisoft’s highly anticipated Watch Dogs will be announced shortly.
The website featured a box out which stated: “Watch Dogs is on its way … Find out the release date in this new trailer.”
This boxout was removed, but a Google cached version still exists and you can see the references to Watch Dogs in the website’s source code.
Watch Dogs had been planned for release at the launch of the next-generation consoles on November 22, but extra development meant its release was pushed back. Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PC versions are expected between April and June 2014, with the Wii U version following at a later date.
There’s always the chance that this trailer tease is actually a relic of the game’s November 22 release date, and has nothing to do with a new release date.
