DICE has finally demonstrated Battlefield 3 gameplay running on consoles, and in particular the PlayStation 3. The studio played the game on Sony's console live on Late Night with Jimmy Falon last night.

This marks the first time that the Frostbite 2 powered FPS has been shown running on any console, with EA and DICE choosing to showcase the game on high-end PCs up until now.

The demo took place during a sequence beginning at 1 minute 36 seconds in the original Fault Line trailer - shown below. The PS3 demo can be seen below that.

VideoGamer.com Analysis

While it's impossible to tell for sure by the footage alone, it looks as thought DICE has done an excellent job with the PS3 version of Battlefield 3. Textures certainly don't look as impressive, but the overall look of the title is similar. Now we await to see what the Xbox 360 version looks like.

This makes Bobby Kotick look like a prick for his comments regarding BF3 demo at EA's conference.

On another note... massive amount of publicity for EA/Dice in America by getting on the Jimmy Falon show.

One of my most eagerly anticipated titles of the year. I know it's just another FPS but fun I got out of BC2 has really got me stoked for BF3. The graphics won't be as good as a PC but then again a console is what? like £150? a gaming PC can top £1k... so I don't know what you would expect.

Even though Planet Battlefield moaned about it look shoddy, I have to agree I still think it looks great. the smoke is not even close to what we've seen on PC and I'm still waiting to see the 360 version but I am literally having kittens about this.
