Over 800,000 current players.

EA has announced that sales of Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning totalled 1.2 million units during the publisher's second fiscal quarter, ended September 30, 2008.

The game launched worldwide on September 18, meaning the game notched up its 1.2 million sales in only 12 days - not bad going by any means. The real test for a new MMO is how many subscribers it can hold on to; it's still very early for WAR, but EA notes there are currently 800,000 players. How many of these will stick around once their initial free trial expires is yet to be seen.

To put the 800,000 players into some context, Blizzard recently confirmed that World of Warcraft has a subscribership of 11 million players.

the game is bugged to hell they sent me this mail and when i questioned it got the most amazing BS from a gm in game -n i have screenies of all the chats for posterity sake and would be happy to share them, Mythic /GOA dont give a flying F&&& about their customers and seem to like telling evryone what a great job they are doing and tbh its a load of lies... >>

The scenario is currently working as intended.
Simply put, not enough people are queuing for the scenario.
It has a larger prequisite to start in comparison with standard scenarios, so more people are needed to get it started.

Some helpful pointers for you would be to encourage fellow players to queue for

the scenario.
Also, do not use the join all button.
Queue for the specific scenario on it's own.

now this is impossible as u cant play on both sides on the same server and it i against the rules to organise stuff with the opposite faction - so how i a ment to as is suggested is rediculous, i have also qued for 2 weeks with only one scenario on the list and it never once opned for me - i belive it opened for 1 day after they did the whole we have to many servesr and need to move u all to one big server.... these guys just dont have a f*** clue about lookin after their customers or seemingly dont give a f** about us the players..... lets see hwo long the game last after all the 3 month subs that were takin out in sept run out in january - 800k players MY ARSE....
sorry for rude post but these guys are takin de piss

The reason why the article stated "1.2 million sales in only 12 days" is because the reporting was from the Company's second quarter which ended September 30, 2008. There are 12 days between September 18 and September 30, so the math is correct. I am hopeful that the number of subscribers climbs higher this current quarter so they can reach 1 million subscribers before the end of the year. It is a great game and I hope it succeeds.

Well i think quite a few will go back for Wrath of the Lich king but in 6 months WAR will have alot of its bugs/problems i hope sorted and people will start to drift back to it. Fingers crossed this is a success as i would like a game to rival WoW and bring some competition to the MMO sector - be quite boring otherwise.
