Video of a helicopter being shot down was reported as footage of the IRA.
A documentary titled Exposure - Gaddafi and the IRA, which aired on Monday night on ITV, has confused action from Bohemia Interactive's 2009 war game ArmA 2 with real footage linking Gaddafi to the IRA.
The shaky cam footage shows a helicopter being shot down with the words "IRA film 1988" displayed over the video. A voice over states: "With Gaddafi's heavy machine guns it was possible to shoot down a helicopter as the terrorists own footage of 1988 shows."
"This was what the security forces feared most," the voice over continued. "It may have been a lucky hit, but for the Army and crew once was enough. No one died in this attack."
Well, no one died in this attack because it happened on a computer, not in real life.
You'll find a short video highlighting the footage below, whilst the full documentary can be viewed on ITV Player, with the offending footage at around the 28 minute mark.
