The Xbox One controller contains an infrared LED that will allow Kinect to automatically recognise the player, it’s been revealed.

The new wireless controller, which will ship with the console later this year, has been “enhanced with more than 40 technical and design innovations”, Microsoft states, and includes “new impulse” technology that sends vibrations directly through the triggers.

Xbox One was announced earlier this evening in Washington alongside a new Kinect.
