Wii U struggles continue in the US as February sales disappoint
Thought to be in the region of only 64,000 units.
The Wii U continues to struggle in the US, shifting what is thought to be in the region of only 64,000 units in the month of February, reports Gamasutra.
In January the Wii U was believed to have sold in the region of 57,000 units.
Despite the increase the new console continues to sell fewer units per week than the PS3 and Xbox 360 ever slumped too.
Xbox 360 continues to clean up in the US, moving 302,000 units, "marking the 26th consecutive month as the number-one selling console in the United States," said Microsoft.
Elsewhere Nintendo's total hardware sales reached 455,000, with February 3DS sales enough to lift its life-to-date figure past eight million. Sony hasn't released any sales data.
Dead Space 3 topped the software chart, but in a quiet month it's difficult to assess whether the game can be classed a success for the EA. Black Ops 2 was shunted down a place to No.2, followed by Crysis 3 at No.3. Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is new at No.5 and Aliens: Colonial Marines managed to place at No.6.
Nintendo added that Fire Emblem: Awakening sold 117,000 at retail – not enough to make the Top 10 – but managed a further 63,000 units digitally.

I don't know. In the past gens you KNOW there will be a ton of unique and system exclusive titles coming post launch. Like I said however nowadays the bulk of the games are multi-platform which makes buying a game-only console almost kinda silly.

Launch periods/ era's for consoles are never good, and whilst the Nextbox and PS4 ones may not be as bad, they still will have a baren era of no games to begin with.

NSMBU, Transformers Prime and Zombie U have been my most played games on my own, while family time has been taken with Tank Tank Tank and Nintendo Land.
Just got Black Ops 2 to try out on the console, as well.
I feel that it needs to have more original content, though, rather than too many ports. Or if ports are done, make them more like NFS Most Wanted where the console is used to its advantage.
Doesn't help that 2 big releases were messed up; Scribblenauts Unlimited and Rayman Legends.
Really looking forward to Lego City Undercover, though.
