The white Xbox One console provided to Microsoft employees last year will go on general sale later this year, according to new rumours from an alleged Xbox insider.

The new console, which is rumoured to launch in October, will also be available in a bundle containing a copy of Sunset Overdrive and a "fancy ass controller", the informant claims, with a "limited edition 1TB" version of the Xbox One releasing one month later in November.

Verifying the rumour, The Verge claims that Microsoft "is indeed planning to release its white employee-only Xbox One this year". Microsoft's Larry Hryb suggested that the platform holder could have plans to release the console to the public last August, teasing that it may be released "waaaay in the future".

The informant also suggests that a disc-less Xbox One could be released; something The Verge states Microsoft has already been testing internally.

A Bluetooth adaptor is alleged to be in development as well, although it isn't know what the device could be used for. Hooking up Bluetooth headsets to the Xbox One, perhaps?

Microsoft told VideoGamer.com that it does not comment on rumour and speculation when contacted about the leak this morning.

Agreements can change, may have to if things continue.

Well they can't do that due agreements with retailers like GAME and Gamestop. I personally don't want it to go digital either, I wanna sell my games if I can or at least do that family sharing thing they were gonna do.

I would imagine that they're going for a cheaper option to suit those who are thinking of just going digital, which makes sense. But yes, online prices need to drop on both the Xbox and Playstation stores.

It was gonna be discless before but early in 2013 they added a Blu-Ray drive as they felt people downloading 34gb odd size files all the time would take too long for the majoity of people.

Yeah I agree. Given their initial focus for the machine I woud imagine this was already well into production, they've just taken their time to annnounce it due to the hostile reaction to the digital-focussed stuff before.

I won't be getting one, but I think it's a good to have the option, especially if it affects the price - it seems pretty inevitable that the games market will go this way more and more across the board as time goes on, so no big surprise that this is happening.

Exactly my friend, the PS4 is the consumer friendly option. Not MicroShaft.

So now we know why the HDD isn't swapable on the Xbone. I can see this discless version being a bigger PSP Go, you get no choice of where to buy your games so you either pay full price or suck it.

I guess so long as they keep the store at competetive prices... but saying that... what reason do they have? You got no choice

Exactly this.

No problem with it being disc less, just needs the prices not to be mental.

i'll only be interested in a disc less version if they make it cheaper. They also need to make the digital prices competitive too

The disc less is a ba idea. Because if we all buy it, then theres nothing to stop microsoft turning the anti consumer anti trade in crap back on.

So maybe miller will start coming round all our houses and look thretening until we buy it

What's wrong with options? I like the idea of an Xbox with disc, without disc, without kinect, etc. The Kinectless Xbox is the best idea out of them though.

Discless console? This will not end well. I love how Microsoft keep digging themselves into a bigger and bigger hole.
