Turok EX, a PC re-release of classic Nintendo 64 FPS Turok: The Dinosaur Hunter, has been picked up by Night Dive Studios and will resume development later this year.

The news comes from PC dev Samuel “Kaiser” Villarreal, who leaked the news speaking to Tech Raptor. Kaiser is currently remaking ’96 shooter PowerSlave, and was asked about giving the same treatment to Turok.

“I was originally working on remaking N64 Turok (called Turok EX) but it got put off to the side. Since now Night Dive Studios has picked up the rights to re-release it, Turok EX will resume development later this year,” he explained.

Night Dive has previously brought to market digital re-releases of System Shock 2 and a range of Ron Gilbert titles. Plans to re-release No One Lives Forever fell through.

Night Dive hasn’t announced plans to re-release Turok, but did retweet a post about the rumour.
