Former members of Black Rock, the studio that developed arcade racer Split/Second, have formed Roundcube Entertainment, according to gamesindustry.biz.
Disney downsized Black Rock Studio in May, stating: "Disney Interactive Studios confirms a reduction of its workforce from the Brighton-based internal game development studio, Black Rock Studios. The studio will continue its work on its current project."
Roundcube Entertainment was formed by Nick Baynes and Ian Monaghan, Split/Second's former game director and senior producer, respectively.
Baynes will now serve as the new studio's head and Monaghan will fill the role of development director according to his linkedin profile.
No upcoming games have been confirmed as of yet, but it will be interesting to see whether the new studio continues Black Rock's tradition of developing racing titles.
