Initial sales 'far in excess' of Sony's plan.

playstation move -

The PlayStation Move controller has sold in the region of 1.5 million units across Europe, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe boss Andrew House has revealed.

Speaking to Bloomberg, House said that Move had "very significant sales in the first month since launch, somewhere in the region of 1.5 million units for the new controller across just Europe."

House added: "The initial sales response has been so far in excess of our initial plan that we'll probably be looking at accelerating production."

VideoGamer.com Analysis

Given the recent press regarding the sold-out Kinect, PS Move had taken a back seat, but 1.5 million unit sales is impressive. Thus far Microsoft has been careful not to reveal the actual pre-order numbers for Kinect, instead stating there will be more units available at launch than at that of the Xbox 360.

Overpriced tech demo's mainly, except Heavy rain which has gotten a lot better with Move.
The tech is great the games are a bit dreary but with the fight , the shoot & sly cooper collection all due b4 xmas i'm hopefull it will improve . Next yr will be the one to judge the new motion controllers as devs will have spent more time with the tech & hopefully got past the gimmick stage.

I got Move at launch. Tumble and Flight Control HD are excellent. Sports Champions is good (but not a Wii Sports beater), Eyepet is improved 100% with Move and the kids can actually interact with it properly now. Got Resi 5 cheap too but haven't tried it yet.

I got Move, so far so good. Hardware feels good and the games are ok. Looking forward to Killzone 3, see exactly what Move can do.

I think we need a bit of clarification on what these numbers are actually for. Have they sold 1.5m controllers with big balls on the end, or does this include nunchuckery things? Because if it's both then you could be halving that figure.

Much more then I would have predicted tbh and if you think about it means kinect will probably do solid sales as well.
