UPDATE 3 21/04: PS4 system update 2.51 is finally available to download, although reasons for its delay last week remain unclear.

Don't expect anything major from today's download, though. As you can see in the patch notes above, 2.51 is only a minor system update to help improve stability.

UPDATE 2: Sony has removed all reference to the 2.51 system update on its support site, including the April 16 release date. Reasons for its removal remain unclear.

UPDATE: Despite stating otherwise, the file hosted on Sony's support site still appears to be last month's 2.50 update. We'll update again when the new file becomes available.

ORIGINAL STORY: PS4 firmware update 2.51 is available to download now from Sony's website. The update doesn't yet appear to be downloadable directly via the console, but expect it to roll out fully at some point later today.

Sony has yet to announce details of what's included in update 2.51, but don't expect it to include much more than minor improvements to last month's major 2.50 update.

We're downloading it now and will update the story once we've seen the patch notes.

This has definitely made my ps4 a lot more sluggish, I was going in and out of the menus and things whilst waiting for it to download, and everything was smooth and fast, now it has updated, everything has about a 1-2 second delay which sucks
