Microsoft mentions 'future Xbox platform' again
Reference to next-gen Xbox shows up in another job ad.
Microsoft has referred to a next-generation Xbox again, just weeks after allegedly boosting security at its offices to reduce next-gen leaks.
Talk of a new Xbox appeared in a pair of job ads for software engineers at the company, which state that successful applicants will be required to test "the Skype Video Engine solution for current and future Microsoft Xbox platform [sic]."
Microsoft has yet to officially announce plans for a "future Xbox platform", of course, but has inadvertently referred to the new hardware multiple times in recent months.
A previous job ad suggested that the hardware would be launching by early 2014, soon after Windows general manager Brian Hall spoke about a "new Xbox".
EA's Frank Gibeau also made a bit of a boo-boo back in August, saying that next-gen consoles would be "coming out in about a year's time".

Would be interesting to see how the product ends up anyways. All the rumours out atm are suggesting that it would run yet another variant of Win8 using a different kernel, most likely using the Xbox360 UI and incompatible with their existing platforms. If that is the case then it would further fragment their ecosystem, and would be a blow to their RT AND their WP8 platforms.
I personally can't imagine this replacing the next Xbox home console (maybe in the gen after the next), however I can imagine this being sold as an optional and standalone accessory for the next Xbox.
Right now I'm kinda wary about MS and their products anyways, with them having killed Zune and now the Windows Live brand, both of which I was a big fan of, and with the release of Win8 which dropped support for a lot of the earlier MS products and features.

I find the idea that the 7" tablet and the next generation XBox could be one and the same thing quite fascinating.
