The studio is currently looking to hire a senior network engineer to work on the next-gen console title.
Infinity Ward is currently working on an unannounced next-gen console title, according to a job ad on the Activision website.
The job ad for a senior network engineer states that Infinity Ward is working on an "exciting unannounced title for next-gen console systems."
"Come work with the game industry's brightest to design and implement high level network code for an exciting unannounced title for next generation console systems," the job ad continues.
No firm details on the game have been revealed, but one of the applicant requirements is an "Interest in games, preferably first person shooters," suggesting Infinity Ward is going to stick to what it does best.
With Black Ops 2 carrying the Call of Duty torch this year, could this mystery game be 2013's Call of Duty title? While that game is certain to arrive on current-gen consoles too, it's perfectly reasonable to expect late 2013 games to ship on Xbox 720/PS4 as well.
