halospin8 -

Joystiq is reporting that the rumoured Halo: Combat Evolved remake for the Xbox 360 is indeed happening, and will hit stores this November to mark the series' 10-year anniversary.

According to sources the remake isn't simply Halo running at a higher resolution, instead being reworked with new art assets. The game won't utilise the Halo: Reach engine.

Slightly worrying is news that it's being handled by Saber Interactive, the studio behind the disappointing TimeShift - although it is also working on the promising looking Inversion for Namco Bandai.

The remake is reported to run in 1080p, support 3D TVs and include online co-op.

VideoGamer.com Analysis

Let's face it. Even if this was a straight up crisp HD version of Halo, millions of gamers would be all over it. Hopefully the talk of redone art assets is true and we end up with a game that can stand shoulder to shoulder with new releases.

I wasn't rising to anything, I was simply pointing out that double posting was pointless considering there is an edit option.

Also, I had a question.

Just don't rise to it Jams :)

I'm hoping they will add parts to the levels, I remember the remake on the Gamecube of Resident Evil and they changed a couple of things for the old gamers who played it on the PS1.

I will be getting it anyway as Halo 1 on a 360 just isn't right. I think SD image to HD is like retro fitted 3D in the cinema...it's just not right....it's like bad poetry lol.

Sorry my eyes must be playing up, as once again there are missing words in my post.

Next time you'd like to say something would you kindly only waste a single post because seeing your name twice in a row followed by your inane garbage is getting slightly tiresome my friend.

From what I've heard this Halo remake will be sporting new features and not stay entirely true to the original. Could this mean the removal of the library I wonder?

That song takes the mick of America more than Canada though :P

I still can't believe it was the song chosen to be played at the Oscars with Robin Williams singing it lol.

No wonder Emily moved here.

What is it with Canadians and Sony? Or is MOP the same person as Doomed on another IP? Doesn't seem to be, but certainly both have the same blinkered viewpoint...hmmm...

I wouldn't go as far as Master getting that, if anything Machine Heads Burn my eyes deserves that (you know, the only good Machine Head album before they sold out and went nu-metal)

Why can't this guy be all over General Gaming instead of the morons we have been getting lately?

For what it's worth, I am also a fan of the Halo campaigns. (Admittedly, I have mostly played them co-operatively with friends, but that is another plus point for the series anyway.) The AI is light years ahead of most other games, and it also never falls back on cheap tricks like infinitely respawning enemies until the checkpoint is reached. Halo CE, in particular, had you in awe of the pitched battles between distinct factions. I also remember leaving the Covenant to fight the Flood in Halo 2 whilst rushing through sections as the Arbiter. Compare this to most games where every single enemy has a P1-seeking radar? I know what I prefer. (Even though the non-stop rush also has its time and place!)

@Mastorofpuppets - So xbox has no games because they have nothing new? Let's see Sonys line-up this year; LBP2, Killzone 3, Resistance 3, Uncharted 3, Infamous 2, another Twisted Metal. Looks like you could say the same about Sony too. I'm looking forward to all of these though, I'm not saying they are bad.

@Bloodstorm - Every game has 14 year olds screaming even the PS3 games. Halo's more popular than any of the Sony games, so of course there are going to be more 14 years old on it. Btw, Halo will be 10 years old in November, which if the rumors are true will be when this games releasing.

It's probably impossible to talk any sense into either of you, being a fanboy will do that, plus it's not like Sony or MS will reward you for being one.
