Diablo Immortal Tempest class release date

The Diablo Immortal Tempest class release date is set for Thursday, May 23 2024. Blizzard confirmed this release date in a blog post and cinematic trailer, detailing and showing off the new Tempest class. In the trailer, we see horrible demons attacking a ship and generally being terrors. At the last second, a Tempest arrives on the scene wielding two swords and magic in tandem, easily dispatching the foes. If you’re a fan of spellswords, this might be Diablo’s answer to that with a spin on your typical speedy rogue character.

The Tempest class will be available in Diablo Immortal as part of a free update, adding new quests for the class. There will also be an item available to buy via microtransactions that will let you change the class of one of your existing characters to the Tempest.

What is the Tempest class in Diablo Immortal?

While details are currently slim about how the Tempest will play and function in-game, Blizzard has shared a little bit about the Tempest. There are currently seven classes available to play in Diablo Immortal, and the Tempest will be the eighth. From what we’ve seen so far, the Tempest class are warrior priests who can use magic and dual blades.

These agile, dual blade-wielding warriors harness the fury of the storm, and crash upon their enemies with wind and waves.

The blog post introducing the Tempest reads: “In a time of ever-growing danger for the world of Sanctuary, mysterious wanderers have sailed from the frigid mists of the north to push back the darkness that surrounds us. These agile, dual-blade-wielding warriors harness the fury of the storm and crash upon their enemies with wind and waves. Will you become one of them? Or will you fight alongside them? The Diablo Immortal team is proud to introduce the game’s eighth class: the Tempest”.

Blizzard also made an announcement that there will be more information about the Tempest coming soon, including a deep dive into the elemental abilities, playstyle, and the Tempest’s unique skill set, along with a new short story and a class-tailored quest. There is more than meets the eye with these dual-wielding warriors, which we can look forward to being revealed as time goes on.

The second part of the trailer shows us a glimpse of the combat and movement of the Tempest. They can use water to move around while also attacking by using the wind, which makes sense considering their names. Meanwhile, in Diablo 4, the Loot Reborn season is almost upon us, which you can read all about now.
