GAME is forcing a £615 bundle on customers who wish to secure an Xbox One Day One Edition in time for launch day, but have yet to do so.

In an update posted on its website today, GAME said that it “only [has] one Day One Edition Bundle left, which includes the Day One Edition console and FIFA 14 download, plus the Call of Duty Ghosts GAME Exclusive Prestige Edition.

“This is the only way you can now guarantee your Day One Console.”

The bundle carries a hefty £614.98 price tag – almost £200 more expensive than Xbox One’s £429.99 RRP.

GAME re-opened pre-orders for Xbox One’s Day One Edition last week after doing “some number wrangling”, before warning that it was the “last chance to pre-order [an Xbox One] for launch”.

The retailer says that it does not believe the bundle will “remain [in stock] for long”, and that remaining stock in-store “will vary from store to store”.

Customers not interested in securing a console for launch can pre-order a Standard Edition Xbox One for £429.99.

Other online retailers, including the Microsoft Store and Currys, are still guaranteeing Xbox One consoles in time for launch day at £429.99.

GAME announced details of a next-gen trade-in offer earlier today, guaranteeing a minimum £40 credit on current-gen titles when upgrading to the next-gen version.

Xbox One launches this November.
