Crystal Dynamics' secret new IP is a next-gen title, a job listing for the firm has revealed.

The job ad, which was listed on the developer's website earlier this month, states that the firm's "cutting edge, original IP" is headed to "future platforms".

Furthermore, the same ad also confirms that the game will be a "third-person action adventure" game.

Crystal Dynamics announced in January that it was working on a new IP.

At the time, studio head Darrell Gallagher said that "2012 is going to be the biggest year in Crystal's history," suggesting that we may get to see the game later this year.

"We have a ton of great content lined up from our teams," he continued, "and we can't wait to pull the wrapper off some of the amazing things we have been putting all of our efforts into."

However, Sony and Microsoft's decision to not show its next-gen consoles during this year's E3 - a decision some sources claim was made relatively late - could mean that Crystal doesn't lift the lid on its new IP until next year.

The studio's next game, Tomb Raider, was also delayed beyond its initial 2012 release date. That game now ships on March 5, 2013.
