EA has announced Need For Speed: Most Wanted, this year’s NFS game currently in development at Burnout developer Criterion Games.

The game will formally be revealed during EA’s E3 press conference on Monday evening.

Best known for its work on the Burnout series of games, Criterion previously developed Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit, 2010’s critically-acclaimed racer.

Need For Speed: Most Wanted has been rumoured to be in development since April when a South African retailer accidentally listed the game.

There’s already been a Need For Speed: Most Wanted on Xbox 360, of course. Given the title, we’re expecting this to be a reboot similar to Hot Pursuit rather than a sequel.

Take a look at the first screenshot above, and tune in to our E3 Hub next week for much more on the game.
