Rockstar: "We would have to give away half the game for free. People would think Liberty City is a tiny city. You run into problems."
There won't be a GTA 4 demo, Rockstar has told VideoGamer.com.
Speaking during our hands-on with what will surely be 2008's biggest game, a Rockstar rep told us that a demo "isn't worth the time and effort".
When asked if there will be a demo Rockstar replied: "I'm sure there won't be. If there was we would have talked about it. With a game like this the guys at Rockstar North will want to spend every minute making the game look great. Most people know the concept of GTA anyway. I don't know that the demo is worth the time and effort."
He added: "Also much of GTA 4 is the driving around and we wouldn't be able to give out the whole city. We would have to give away half the game for free. People would think Liberty City is a tiny city. You run into problems."

Good. I don't want a demo. Keep it a mystery.
Ps. Why is it coming out on a Tuesday? Am I expected to take the rest of the week off?

I agree with Clance! Why a tuesday? When i saw the release date i was like this is fake cos games are normally out on a fri. Then everywhere announced it correctly! And im glad theres no demo, the suspense is killing me, but i wish they released a small gameplay video just to see what the gameplay is like! :P

It's out on a Tuesday probably to stop piracy. Instead of having it out say in america on monday, then UK on friday (thus giving the people in the US time to upload it before its even released in the UK), it's released at the same time all over the world. Films do this, and I think Halo done this too

Well........... It is out on a tuesday because that is the day off the week that all other media (CD's,DVD's...)comes out. If you have ever worked retail it is called new release tuesday. They do this so they can all release on the same day across the world, but not to stop piracy. This makes it easier to see how much money you are making, where you are making it, and it keeps the books of international corporations cleaner so they don't have a bunch of spikes in your earnings for a week. It also gives you a more accurate readings on profit losses if you do it in one lump sum. Tuesday just so happens to be the day that works best for about 90% of all markets.

Agreed, and tuesday is the day it comes out, dunno why they have picked a horrible day for a major game release. I was hopeing for a Friday release as you have the weekend :D

Games in America are released on Tuesdays I believe so maybe that had something to do with it.
