UPDATE 26/11: Ubisoft has confirmed that the Rainbow Six Siege beta will go live to all players at 5pm GMT on Thursday, November 26, just over 24 hours after it was initially scheduled to launch.

The beta will be available to download on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

“We want to thank everyone who is participating in this beta,” Ubisoft said in an update on the game’s official forum. “Your feedback helps. For everyone who hasn’t been able to play as yet, we apologize for the inconvenience and we appreciate your patience and understanding.”

Last night, Ubisoft explained that the issue behind the open beta’s delay was linked to a problem introduced following September’s closed beta, and that it was confident the final game would not suffer from similar issues.

ORIGINAL STORY: Ubisoft has delayed the launch of Rainbow Six Siege’s open beta while it investigates issues with the game’s matchmaking.

The beta had been due to roll out to all players later today after opening to select users yesterday. But it will remain in a “Closed Beta” state until Ubisoft irons out the kinks with the game’s netcode, the publisher says.

“We’re currently seeing issues with matchmaking times and disconnection on all platforms,” Ubisoft said in an update on the game’s forums. “As such we’re postponing the Open Beta until a later time and keeping the game under Closed Beta status. We apologize for the delay and can assure you this is our top priority. We will keep everyone updated regularly as we continue to deploy improvements.”

It isn’t yet clear how long Ubisoft intends to delay the launch of the open beta.

The delay is particularly concerning given its proximity to the full game’s launch, which is still scheduled to release next week.

Ubisoft has not announced any sort of delay for the full game.

Rainbow Six Siege launches on PS4, Xbox One and PC next Tuesday, December 1.
