Tactical online shooter Rainbow Six Siege will be free to play on PC and Xbox One this weekend, Ubisoft has announced.

The free play time should have already kicked off on Xbox One, with PC following at 6pm BST this evening, although it’ll expire on both next Monday, August 1.

To give it a go, you’ll be able to download the game directly through the Uplay app on PC, or through the Xbox Store on Xbox One.

And if you like it, you’ll be able to grab it at 50% off until Sunday. The price has already been knocked down to £15 on Xbox One, which I reckon is a bit of a bargain. Alternatively, you can pick up the Xbox One Gold Edition, which comes with the Season Pass, for £27.50.

On top of that, a Double Renown event taking place this weekend will also let players earn Siege’s in-game currency twice as fast. It isn’t clear which platforms the event will be available on, although I assume it’s taking place across PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Plus, if you logged into the game on July 26, you’ll also be granted an additional 24 hour boost due to the emergency maintenance that took everything offline earlier this week.

This weekend’s events come ahead of the launch of Rainbow Six Siege’s latest DLC, Operation Skull Rain, next Tuesday. The DLC includes a free map and two new operators.
