All of the in-game footage featured in today's GTA 5 gameplay trailer was captured from the PlayStation 3 version, Rockstar has confirmed.

"Just to clarify for those asking, this particular video was captured with footage from the PS3 version of the game," wrote Rockstar on the publisher's official website.

Gameplay footage of GTA 5 was released earlier today, offering players the first in-game glimpse at the world of Los Santos and the mechanics set to be introduced in this September's crime blockbuster.

The trailer looks real promising. Having three protagonists in a single game, I think it's going to be too much fun. Waiting for the Xbox footage.

Surprised by that comment as the 12X DVD drive is up to double the speed of the PS3's 2X Blu Ray drive.

The 360 was the best version of GTA4, the Rockstar team struggled with the CPU and infrastructure of the PS3 at this point.

That being said vast improvements were made by LA Noire. Which resulted in two games with slight differences or quirks.

You would hope by 8 years in that Rockstar would have both of the consoles down and an epic game will be seen on both.

They are having problems getting it to work as smoothly on the X360. The lack of space on DVD9, slow slow DVD transfer speeds of the Xbox compared to Blu-Ray, and the lack of an across-the-board standard HDD is the same old same old problems.

I would be VERY surprised if it looks as good as this. They gimped all versions because of the Xbox limitations last time around, to let it hold back the game this time too would be suicidal for the GTA franchise.

PS. Shove a 500GB HDD inyour console, it's easy to do.

Oh right, i remember now, i think i confused you a little but i do remember you saying that comment about the next Saints Row. Its impossible as a gamer to not get caught up in this awesome looking game. I have to admit, hands down that i'm totally blown away. Iv'e been doing a little revisiting myself with the GTA IV episodes packs and your right, it does crank up the excitement levels and i doubt GTA IV will be a patch on GTA V not even close.

Oh, I've always been interested and was going to preorder, but the hype only really hit me once the trio montage trailer hit a couple of months back. I *was* more excited for the next Saints Row, but that changed upon seeing how beautiful the world is (and replaying Bully, RDR, and GTAIV after seeing that trailer certainly helped :p)

I might be wrong and confusing you with another member but was there a time not so long ago when you was saying how little interested you are about GTA V. Just wondering has all the news and trailers etc now convinced you?

Might you chaps possibly be able to request 360 footage through official channels, and see what the response is...? :)

As currently an Xbox gamer I'm hoping its not going to look or play any different be very disappointing if it does, I do have a ps3 but its only the 20GB and its full from GTA 4 and is no longer plugged in any more cos I have to delete everything to play a new game.
