Assassin’s Creed Rogue will launch on PC in early 2015, Ubisoft has confirmed to IGN. The game had previously only been announced for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

The later release on PC is “primarily for production reasons,” Ubisoft says, although a release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One has yet to be confirmed.

“We can’t talk about this right now,” the publisher told IGN when asked about a potential next-gen release.

Assassin’s Creed Rogue launches on Xbox 360 and PS3 on November 14, the same day as Assassin’s Creed Unity releases on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

Jim’s been playing Rogue all day and pondered whether it could be the better of the two of this year’s Assassin’s Creeds.

UPDATE: In a statement provided to VideoGamer.com, a Ubisoft representative confirmed: “Yes, the PC version is coming out early 2015. PC fans who enjoyed Assassin’s Creed III and Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag will be able to discover the missing links between these two epic stories with Assassin’s Creed Rogue.”
