The Twitch app update for Xbox One is now live, meaning users can begin live broadcasting directly from the console, Twitch has announced.

Besides streaming live gameplay, the updated Twitch app will also let user initiate broadcasts with voice commands, archive game clips and watch streams broadcast from any other device.

Xbox One users could previously only use the Twitch app to watch streams broadcast via other devices, with gameplay recording handled by the console’s Upload app.

It has also been revealed that Xbox One streaming offers a resolution of 1280×720 30 fps at approximately 2.5 Mbps, which compares very favourably to the PS4’s broadcast stream of 960×540 30 fps at approximately 1.7 Mbps.
