SEGA is returning to E3 this year with its own booth, it’s been confirmed. The publisher skipped last year’s event to focus on its “restructure and relocation to Southern California”, instead collaborating with other partners to help show off its games.

But that won’t be the case this year, SEGA Europe community marketing manager Dan Sheridan says.

“Yes, [we will have a booth],” Sheridan said during the latest episode of SEGA Central. “We’ll be making an announcement about our E3 presence soon.”

SEGA has multiple games currently in development, including PC strategy game Dawn of War 3, Motorsport Manager and an unannounced Sonic The Hedgehog title. The new Sonic, however, likely won’t be on show at E3, with the publisher instead choosing to focus on a special 25th Anniversary event taking place in July.

“To confirm: No big E3 party this year,” Sonic’s PR and social media manager Aaron Webber said earlier this month. “You’ll want to make sure to be at the 25th Anniversary Party on July 22nd!”

The new Sonic game has previously been rumoured to be a remake of the 1991 original. Earlier this week, SEGA teased: “We solemnly swear we’re up to something good”.
