UPDATE: Shortly after posting this story EA told Polygon that the message accusing PS4 system update 1.50 of causing stability issues was "posted in error". It has also removed the page from its support site.

ORIGINAL STORY: PlayStation 4's 1.50 system update is causing stability issues with all of the console’s titles, EA has alleged.

EA claims that the day one 1.50 update "results in stability issues while playing games on the system.

"This affects all games on the PS4, including EA titles, causing crashing/freezing and non-responsive connections between the player's console and their TV Screen."

The publisher says that "Sony is working to resolve the issue as quickly as they can," and that the issues can only be fixed via a new PS4 system update.

Update 1.50 released just prior to PS4's US launch last night and adds a variety of features to the console, including support for Remote Play, second screen devices, online multiplayer, Blu-ray disc playback and much more.

PlayStation 4 launches in the UK later this month on November 29.

As long as the negativity is towards EA, all is good :D

What I cannot understand is why this article still exists if it is incorrect. The claim is still in bold as the title and the update denouncing it is lower priority grey, so it's still getting flagged up in Google search in bold. The whole article should be deleted and a new article created with the update denouncement in bold and the explanation what happened below.

It is still proliferating a negative. Something political is going on here.

Conspiracy theories aside, the real million quid question is if blaming the firmware update was flat out rubbish or if it simply wasn't supposed to be disclosed to the public.

Loads of Internet speculation from conspiracy theorists about MS paying EA, which is silly.

Haha, wow, was this some kind of payback for the online pass curfuffle between Sony and EA?
Doesn't seem like such a little mix up, seems like a little propaganda that was deemed eventually to be 'distasteful'.

Ha, the blow of the two week wait is feeling less depressing now. Nice to not have that headache.
A bit uplifting, at the expense of others, how sadistic... not feeling guilty however! ; p

I have heard of stability issues on battlefield 4 on the ps4 but not for any other game so makes me think if EA is just making a hoohar for nothing. It's to be expected when a console gets released to a wide audience, same thing happened with both the ps3 and xbox 360 when they first released. I am sure if you give it a week or so Sony will buffer out the issues. Hears hoping xbox one gets off to a better start but I am expecting similar problems.

More teething issues? Glad the Americans are Beta testing the console for us!

Hope the Xbox One release goes smoother, though, as it will be all of us in it together.
