Update: Amazon has changed it’s PS VR pre-order stock allocation message, removing the previous 11.45am cut-off for day one delivery, but confirming it can no longer guarantee launch day delivery.

It’s not clear if those who ordered before 11.45am remain on track for day one delivery.

The note now states: “Due to limited stock we are only able to offer one unit per customer per address. We do not currently have a release date for this product. Based on our initial allocation we cannot guarantee release day delivery. You will be notified via email of the expected delivery date closer to the time. We will be fulfilling customer orders in the order in which they were placed. This product comes with a UK plug and therefore may not be suitable for use outside of the UK.”

Previous report: Amazon opened up pre-orders for PlayStation VR at 11am today, but orders were stopped shortly after, before re-opening again with a tweak to the product description.

It appears that launch stock has been depleted already.

PS VR’s original listing featured the note: “Due to limited stock we are only able to offer one unit per customer per address. The first orders will be eligible for release date delivery and this will be confirmed by email once the manufacturer confirms release date. If your order does not qualify for release date deliver, you will be notified of an expected delivery date closer to the time. This product comes with a UK plug and therefore may not be suitable for use outside of the UK.”

This was then updated to read: “Due to limited stock we are only able to offer one unit per customer per address. We do not currently have a release date for this product. You will be notified of an expected delivery date closer to the time. This product comes with a UK plug and therefore may not be suitable for use outside of the UK.”

A third update was then made to confirm launch stock had been sold out.

“Due to limited stock we are only able to offer one unit per customer per address. We do not currently have a release date for this product. Based on our initial allocation we cannot guarantee release day delivery if you ordered after 11:45 GMT, Wednesday 16 March, 2016. You will be notified via email of the expected delivery date closer to the time. This product comes with a UK plug and therefore may not be suitable for use outside of the UK.”
