wii u black -

Amazon Germany is the latest retailer to have a go at pinning a release date and price on the Wii U, this time plumping for December 21 and €399.99.

The €399.99 price would indicate something in the region of £299.99 in the UK.

For now the date and price should be taken as nothing more than guess work, especially given Amazon UK already admitted its July 14 £199 Wii U listing was made in "error".

VideoGamer.com Analysis

If the release date proves accurate Nintendo is severely limiting its potential sales this Christmas, leaving just a three to four day window in which consumers could snaffle a Wii U to place under the tree on December 25.

December doesn't really give them time to capture the pre-Christmas present market.

Haha as if that close to Christmas its going to take a few weeks for it to get the hype down to the kids and parents after its launch so beside the excited ppl who will buy on launch day ie "gamers" no one is going to buy it, unless there hoping the new year sales will bring in more buyers.
I predict an october 26th release date in the uk at £249.99

Totally doubt this, most rumours have implied that it will be released around mid November (19th November) and plus the last three previous Nintendo home consoles have been released on the 18th and 19th of November.

This is just a place holder date, Nintendo are not stupid....

I'd be more inclined to say November. December doesn't really give them time to capture the pre-Christmas present market.

Plaaacceee holderrrr! It's just the last full trading day before Christmas, so that's the safest date to put down assuming it will launch in 2012... which it will, hopefully. Again, the price is a high estimate so people can put pre-orders down.

That said, if Wii U launches on December 21st at £299, I will be queuing up at Oxford Street to buy one.
