A new game in the Resident Evil franchise is to release this autumn, according to digital games research company SuperData.

The company referenced the unannounced title in a report posted earlier today, stating that it expects to see an “upswing [in the digital games market] as the next editions of several major franchises like Halo and Resident Evil come out in the 2015 fall season”.

The report also claims that this year’s Call of Duty will be Call of Duty: Black Ops 3.

Capcom has yet to announce a new game in the Resident Evil series or confirm last year’s rumours that GameCube title Resident Evil Zero is to see an HD release.

The latest Resident Evil title, Resident Evil Revelations 2, launched at retail last week following a season of digital episodes.
