Square Enix has released Hitman Absolution: Full Disclosure, an official iOS app offering a look behind the scenes at the game’s development.

The app includes over 250 images and 25 videos examining the game’s development from its initial concept through to release, with members of IO Interactive sharing “a side of game development that is rarely seen in such uncompromising and unrestricted detail”.

“We’re coming full circle here by going back to some of the very earliest ideas and concepts that came out of our explorations and I’m really happy that we get to show this content,” said Hitman Absolution’s game director Tore Blystad. “We made a conscious decision to dig out a wide selection of things from the data vaults and I think fans will get a real treat here.”

Hitman Absolution launched last year and despite a successful chart debut, VideoGamer.com wasn’t quite as impressed with it as most, scoring it 5/10 in our review.

An unannounced Hitman game is currently in development at Square Enix Montreal.

Hitman Absolution: Full Disclosure is available to download on the App Store now for £1.49.
