Codemasters may have multiple rally titles in the works for 2014, judging by a tweet from the firm discussing its plans for the New Year.

Asking fans what they would “like to see to see from us in 2014”, one fan replied: “definitely a new dirt/rally game. But you’re working on one already aren’t you?”

“Well we’re not,” Codemasters replied, “not working on one ;)”.

It’s been a couple of years since we last saw a console rally title from Codemasters, with DiRT Showdown releasing in May 2012. Since then the firm has released Colin McRae Rally on iOS, a re-imagined version of PSOne’s Colin McRae Rally 2.

Whatever form the games take, though, they’ll likely be cross-generational, with the publisher promising that it won’t abandon Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 users.

As well as dropping hints towards future rally games, Codies also suggested that F1 will make its debut on next-gen consoles later this year, stating that F1 2014 on Xbox One is “the easy one”.
