Dead Island Riptide publisher Deep Silver has come up with an unusual marketing stunt in which it will pay for a couple’s wedding… providing it’s Zombie-themed.

Yes, if you agree to have a Zombie wedding you could have the whole shebang paid for by Deep Silver, and be sent on a luxury Caribbean honeymoon.

“The search for two engaged Dead Island superfans who will be zombified for a Dead Island twist on a traditional beach wedding ceremony takes in every cemetery, grave and crypt the length and breadth of the UK,” states the competition blurb. “In return for becoming the official Dead Island Riptide zombie bride and groom, Deep Silver will host a Dead Island Riptide-themed zombie wedding ceremony and send the winning undead couple on a luxury Caribbean honeymoon.”

Those interested in making one of your most cherished days into an undead nightmare they’ll never be able to forget can submit a YouTube video application to the Dead Island Riptide Facebook page. Applications will be accepted until February 14, which is Valentine’s Day.

“For the launch celebrations of Dead Island Riptide we wanted to do something different, and a zombie wedding with all the trappings certainly fits the bill and has not been done on this scale before,” Deep Silver’s head of marketing and PR Amy Namihas stated.

“We’re excited to see the application videos from our prospective undead bride and groom and look forward to hosting the wedding of the fear.”

Dead Island Riptide will be released April 26 for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

I’m getting married in May, but there’s no way the bride to be will have anything to do with zombies. Never mind undead, suggesting entering this would leave me dead.
