Angry Birds Trilogy, built from the ground up for high definition televisions, will be released for Xbox 360, PS3 and Nintendo 3DS this holiday, reports IGN.

The trilogy includes the original Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons and Angry Birds Rio on one disc or 3DS game cartridge.

“You can think of the game as the ultimate collector’s edition,” said Rovio’s executive vice president of games Petri Järvilehto. “There are new cinematics, extras and other entertaining content. In addition all of the existing material has been uprezzed and re-treated for the high-resolution and big screen.”

He added: “The backgrounds have been animated, we’ve added lighting modes, reactive backgrounds, the list goes on and on.

“We believe that there are a lot of people on the consoles who appreciate a great casual game play experience. This is a game that resonates across a wide audience on many platforms.”

The trilogy will support Kinect and PS Move, plus will offer StreetPass on 3DS. Each stage will also have its own leaderboard.

How much can Activision and Rovio get away with charging for this retail collection? Remember that you can pick up all three games in HD for about £5 on the App Store.

The fact Angry Birds Space is missing suggests this will be offered at a later date, but Rovio would be hard-pressed to launch it alone on a retail disc. Perhaps Space will appear as a download.
